Toyota Highlander Engine for a Smooth On-Road Experience

A pioneer automobile in every way, the Toyota Highlander was one of the first “midsize crossovers SUV” that was sold in United States after its launch in the year 2001. The design of this car is unique, and the original version of this car offered many benefits over the other traditional SUV’s of Toyota. From that time, Toyota has become one of the most popular manufacturers of Crossover SUVs. This vehicle went through a remodeling phase in the year 2014. The new highlander is little longer than the previous generations. It is now styled to look a little sporty and aggressive. The cabins are also bit remodeled and modernized. The original versions did not have soft material in the cabin, which has been improved now. It has also been equipped with many latest electrical updates.

The SUV is available in both the all-wheel drive and front-wheel drive. The base model is powered with a 2.7 liter engine with four cylinders generating around 185 horsepower. All the other highlanders have a higher range engine that is 3.5 liter V6 generating about 270 horsepower.  Hybrid version of this highlander is also available that gives a better fuel efficiency.

This SUV has four trim levels from which buyers can make their choice. These are LE, XLE, Le Plus, and limited. The base or standard LE consist of a rearview camera, Bluetooth, USB and iPod interface, touchscreen display and eighteen inch wheel. If you move a little higher, you get a power driver seat, flip-up rear glass, tri-zone climate controlling facility and many more. The XLE offers a keyless entry, navigation system; sunroof “leather upholstery” etc. the top model consist of some additional security features like “frontal collision warning”, blind-spot monitoring, lane-departure alarming system etc.

The Toyota highlander engine is complemented much because of its on-road performance. It is neat and silent and smooth giving competition to most of the high-end SUVs available in the market. It is one of the most popular and loved vehicles of Toyota.
